Day 2- we settle in

day two started with an early morning because as teachers we need to be at school on time.  Everyone went back to their original classrooms because we bonded with our new friends and wanted to hang out all day again.  It is catholic schools week at st Mary's and the bishop came to say mass.  Everyone gathered in the beautiful church to sing and worship together.  Me. Kiolbassa found an organ to olay and the students loved hearing new type of music.  We then had a private lunch with the bishop back at the mission.  Once lunch was done it was back to work with an afternoon full of math, gym, and recess.  The school is getting ready for a Pow-Wow on Friday and we watched the girls practice their dance!  We stuck around after school to play volleyball and basketball with the cool teachers at the school and went home for our afternoon chill.

We have a young college student named Sam whose job is to help us out and "babysit" us.  He took us on s tour of Red Lake teaching us about the history and culture.  We talked about it over dinner (tacos, chili, and apple crumble!)

Our night activity was a bond fire.  Most of us had never sat around a fire and wondered how it could possibly be fun.  That changed very fast once we started to have our sing alongs, looking at the stars, s'mores, and some spooky stories!!  Some of us are alittle scared to be in our own beds bought!

We are excited about one more day in the school and are looking forward to hiking on Thursday.

Continue to pray for us but also the people of Red Lake.  Especially the hardworking and kind members of the St Mary's Mission School.  They have welcomed us with open arms and we are eternally grateful.
